Lifelock.com Review 2021

What is lifelock.com?

LifeLock.com is a company based in Tempe, AZ, and is a provider of consumer cyber safety products. The business began in 2005 and offers identity theft protection to consumers. It was later acquired by Symantec in 2019 and started expanding its capabilities. Symantec also owns several other security brands such as Javelin Networks, which is a cybersecurity software and artificial intelligence (AI) firm. Today, LifeLock offers several plans from its enhanced Select Plan, Advantage Plan, and the Ultimate Plus plans that include Norton 360 cyber and computer protection. Although you can still subscribe to the company’s original LifeLock offerings, our review will be focusing mainly on the popular Norton 360 with LifeLock plans.

LifeLock.com with Norton 360 is a combination of the well-known Norton online and computer security name with a superior LifeLock reputation in the field of identity theft protection. Today, the company serves 50 million+ customers and takes a four-pronged identity protection approach. All its plans address everything from identity protection to device security, and online privacy as well as home and family protection.

What is identity theft?

It’s the fraudulent acquisition and use of someone’s private identifying information. Basically, it occurs when somebody steals your personal info for the purpose of committing fraud. They could use that info for anything from applying for credit, filing taxes, or even getting medical services.

All of those can seriously damage your credit status as well as costing you a great deal of time and money to recover your good name and reinstate your credit rating. The unauthorized party generally uses all or part of your information, including your name and address, your Social Security Number (SSN), and/or your bank and credit card or information, thereby assuming your identity and committing fraud as well as certain other criminal acts.

The most common type of identity theft is financial and here are some basic examples:

  • False civil or even criminal judgments.
  • Fraudulent address change.
  • Fraudulent passports.
  • Misuse of your driver’s license number.
  • Misuse of Social Security Number.
  • Phone service in your name.
  • Stolen ATM cards.
  • Stolen Checks.

How does LifeLock.com work?

It provides a wide range of identity theft protection features plus protection for your computers and other devices along with Norton 360, which gives members a virtual private network (VPN) for online privacy. Most other identity theft protection companies are not currently offering that.

And, besides credit and Social Security number alerts, Lifelock.com also offers the following additional features with the Select plan:

  • Adblocker
  • Anonymous browsing
  • Credit monitoring (single bureau)
  • Dark web monitoring
  • Data breach notifications
  • ID verification monitoring
  • Parental controls
  • Password manager
  • Stolen wallet protection
  • USPS verification of address change
  • Virus protection
  • VPN for as many as five devices

The Select plan also includes the LifeLock Million Dollar Protection Package. This provides reimbursement of up to $25,000 for stolen funds plus an additional $25,000 to cover your personal expenses that are related to identity theft. In addition, it pays up to a million dollars in attorney’s fees and fees incurred for other professional services.

The Advantage Plan includes all the features of the Select plan, however, it offers higher compensation limits, and Advantage subscribers will also receive credit scores and reports from Equifax annually plus continuous credit monitoring. In addition, it covers up to ten devices instead of five plus 250 GB of cloud backup.

The Ultimate Plus Plan is their most comprehensive plan and provides the max reimbursement for everything from attorneys’ fees to personal expenses and any stolen funds up to $1 million for each category. Finally, the number of covered devices is unlimited on this plan, and you also get 500 GB of cloud backup.

Pricing?

There are three plans that include Norton 360 and here are the current prices:

1. The Select Plan- $9.99 per month (first year), then $14.99 per month (thereafter).

2. The Advantage Plan- $17.99 to $19.99 (first year), $24.99 per month (thereafter).

3. The Ultimate Plus Plan- $25.99 per month (first year), then $34.99 per month.

Pros and Cons

Like all great products, there are always some pros and cons, so here are a few:

Pros:

  • It delivers computer and other device protection via its partnership with Norton 360,
  • It includes personal expense compensation and stolen funds reimbursement,
  • The company offers a full 60-day money-back guarantee on all annual plans.

Cons:

  • The plans may cost a bit more than plans from some competitors,
  • The family plan will cost an additional $5.99 per child.

Final Thoughts

While researching for our Lifelock.com Review 2021, we discovered that LifeLock offers a lot of the same features offered by many other top identity theft protection services. The key difference with Lifelock.com is the Norton 360 computer and cyber tools protection that you also get as a member. So, for anybody who is in the market for identity theft monitoring conveniently paired with electronic device protection, it will check all the boxes. Another important feature is that their identity restoration specialists are based in the U.S. and are available 24/7 by calling 1-877-438-4338.
